Description:

• To follow up all vessels faulty Navigation Equipment and Projects through daily messages and seek instruction from superintendent to arrange repair, to get spare parts etc.

• To co-ordinate with Technical Superintendent and Technical Executives.

• Checking of invoices and seek signature for approval from Manager Fleet Shipboard Electronics.

• Track performance of the equipment and Projects as directed by Manager.

• Keeping and filing of documents, preparing various Data base of Radio Navigational equipment and Projects for Analysis.

• Weekly report to be prepared and submitted to Manager.

• Commission / De-commission of the new takeover vessel / vessel sold to be followed up.


Requirements:

• Diploma in Electronic Engineering preferred or Marine Engineering

• Preferably 1-2 years of experience in the marine industry

• Experience in Ship Navigational equipment preferred

• Basic IT knowledge, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Email

• Good communication skills – spoken and written English

• Flair for numbers

Radio Surveyor

Responsibilities

  • Perform VDR/SVDR annual tests and statutory safety radio survey onboard ships.
  • Attend to customers’ enquiries and correspond on statutory survey matters.
  • Monitor and be updated about international convention regulations and International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements.
  • Maintain and update survey checklists issued by classification bodies.
  • Maintain validity of approval certificates issued by classification bodies.
  • Identify nature of survey and monitor daily statutory survey activities.
  • Prepare survey report and submit to relevant classification authority.
  • Record any non-conformity of equipment in the survey report.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the superior.
  • To comply with company policies and Classification Bodies/Authorities Code of Conduct


Requirements

  • Minimum two years relevant experience.
  • Possess technical knowledge in GMDSS & VDR/SVDR systems.
  • Authorised to conduct statutory surveys in accordance with International Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS) convention, Mobile Offshore Drilling Units (MODU) code, High-Speed Craft (HSC) code and the Merchant Shipping Acts.
